What’s up with China?

Danish Music for China (DMK) has for years organized concerts in both China and other parts of Asia. The project supports the collection of knowledge and knowhow relating to the presentation of Danish music in China. This includes working with tours, networking, strategy and finance. Now you can get to the info meeting on 18th June at 9.30 am, where experience is shared and where all interested parties can get examples of developments in the presentation of Danish music in China.

Newly renovated Jazzhouse opens with a splash

After 10 months of silence at the water-damaged rooms in Niels Hemmingsens Gade, Jazzhouse opened up to a beautiful and newly renovated concert hall on the 1st of June. With subtle dark shades and a new location for the stage, bar, wardrobe and backstage, you can say Copenhagen has almost gotten a brand new venue. The first weekend was packed with music and people, and the program for the next long period of time has already been booked. In other words: Jazz House is back!

Galactic trio wins jazz competition

The finale of the nationwide jazz competition for young musicians ‘Young Jazz’ went down last night (wednesday the 6th of June) at the re-opened JazzHouse in Copenhagen. The winner was the intergalactic trio Andromeda. The trio swept away both audience and jury members with the convincing compositions, matching spacesuits and cosmic anecdotes.

Bob Moses has landed!

Drummer ”Rakalam” Bob Moses is in Denmark until the beginning of August as a part of Artist in Residence program. While here he’ll be doing a series of concerts, workshops and recordings with Danish musicians. The 64-year-old musician who is probably best known for his collaboration with Pat Metheny and Jaco Pastorius, is looking forward to playing with a lot of Danish jazz musicians over the next couple of months.
