Jazzkonkurrencen 2026 is now open for applications!
Are you ready to take your music to the next level? Jazz Danmark once again invites young, talented jazz musicians to be part of Jazzkonkurrencen.
Win 10,000 DKK for your own project
Jazzkonkurrencen is a platform where new voices in Danish jazz can showcase their music, connect with audiences, and build networks within the industry. The competition offers talented young jazz musicians the opportunity to perform at some of Denmark’s best venues, receive coaching, gain exposure on P8 Jazz, and become part of a strong community of emerging jazz artists.
All three finalists will perform four concerts and receive feedback and individual coaching throughout the process leading up to the final in May. New this year, Jazz Danmark is also offering a two-day workshop before the competition begins. The winner will receive DKK 10,000 for a self-chosen project.
Registration is now open, so if you and your band dream of developing your craft, being heard, and perhaps taking the next step in your career, Jazzkonkurrencen 2026 is your chance. The application deadline is November 24, 2025, and applicants can expect a response in early December.

Workshop
New in 2026, Jazz Danmark is offering a two-day workshop designed to prepare participants for the competition. The workshop will take place on January 23–24 at one of the four venues hosting the concerts. The final location will be determined after the selection process to ensure the most geographically suitable option.
The workshop is divided into three themes
- PR and communication: Learn how to create a strong PR plan and promote yourself and your music effectively.
- Inside the music industry: Gain insight into how the industry works — from DIY releases to record labels, booking, management, and streaming.
- Stage performance: Develop tools to create an engaging and professional live concert experience.
The program concludes with group coaching sessions led by the three judges, focusing on participants’ goals and expectations for the competition.
