Are You Going to Jazzahead? Join an for an afternoon of inspiration!

Jazz Denmark invites all Danish Jazzahead participants to an afternoon of inspiration and a workshop. Participation is free but requires registration.

At the jazz trade fair Jazzahead, more than 3,500 musicians and industry professionals participate every year. Navigating such a large fair can be overwhelming if you don’t know what—and who—you are looking for. Getting the most out of attending the industry festival requires preparation.

Jazz Denmark wants everyone attending Jazzahead to have a clear idea of what they can expect and to be well prepared to achieve their own goals and visions. Therefore, we are inviting you to an afternoon of inspiration and a workshop where we will explore how best to prepare.

Inspirational talks from a rising international musician and an established festival booker

For the first part of the afternoon, we have invited two speakers to share their experiences with industry festivals.

Teis Semey
Musician and composer Teis Semey has attended Jazzahead every year since 2021, including 2 official showcase performances. For him, the fair has been an indispensable platform for opening doors to the international jazz scene. Independently, he has built a large international network and now tours around the world. He will talk about his working methods and best practices as a musician at Jazzahead.

Nicklas Weis Damkjær (Roskilde Festival)
Nicklas Weis Damkjær from Roskilde Festival will contribute insights from the buyer’s side. During his 10 years as a programmer, he has attended dozens of industry festivals around the world. He will talk about his experience being on the buyer’s side of the negotiating table and what a professional festival like Roskilde Festival looks for when discovering new music at showcase festivals and trade fairs.

Workshop and Roundtable discussion

Both talks will last approximately 30 minutes and will be followed by a short Q&A session.
Afterwards, there will be a workshop and roundtable discussion where we will formulate, share, and exchange visions and goals. Both Jazz Denmark and the participants will contribute with personal experiences from Jazzahead.

Target group

The afternoon is aimed at Danish musicians and industry professionals who are already registered for Jazzahead 2026.
However, it is not a requirement. If you are curious about the fair and are still considering attending—either this year or in future years—you are also welcome.
Participation is free but requires registration.
