In 2026, venues and organisers across Denmark are celebrating 100 years of Danish jazz with more than 100 concerts, talks and festival experiences nationwide. The autumn programme offers something for jazz lovers everywhere from Frederiksberg to Skagen.

Sundays at Bartof, three concerts in Frederikshavn and 100 years of big band jazz

Throughout the year, Café Bartof in Frederiksberg has been celebrating jazz history with concerts featuring Steen Kyed Trio and a series of guest soloists. This autumn, the trio will be joined by prominent names including Mads Mathias and Christina von Bülow.

At Maskinhallen in Frederikshavn, three concerts are part of the anniversary programme. Audiences can experience singer Emma Pilgaard, as well as Claus Waidtløw, who marks 100 years of Danish jazz while also paying tribute to Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Niklas Walentin & Snorre Kirk Trio will turn their attention to Danish popular music composers such as Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, Svend Gyldmark and Kai Normann-Andersen.

Throughout the year, big band Unoderne has toured the country with A String of Pearls – a concert format celebrating 100 years of big band jazz through historic repertoire and stories. This autumn, the orchestra can be experienced in Brabrand and Grenaa.
