We are looking for musicians, associations and concert organizers who want to create events that bring the rich history of jazz and its contemporary quality to the entire country. The deadline is October 1, 2025.

Which events can be part of the overall program?

• Concerts, exhibitions, seminars and other events that promote jazz in Denmark, which can take place from January 1 to December 31, 2026.
• The event can focus on specific historical points of impact (e.g. a specific musician, venue, musical movement or other), but can also mark the present and future of jazz.

The event must relate to one or more of the following categories:

• The event conveys the history of jazz in Denmark.
• The event clarifies the position of jazz in Denmark right now based on history.
• The event shows the way into the future of jazz in Denmark based on history.

In the registration, please briefly argue how your event fits into one or more of these three categories.

For organizers in the 100 years umbrella program, Jazz Danmark can offer:

• Your event will be part of the Danish Jazz 100 Years umbrella program, both in print and online.
• Jazz Danmark ensures broad visibility with targeted press work for the overall project via relevant music and cultural media as well as through its own channels.

Background – 100 years of jazz in Denmark

In 2026, Jazz Danmark will celebrate 100 years of jazz in Denmark with a nationwide umbrella event. The goal is to bring the rich history of jazz and its contemporary quality to the entire country through over 100 events during 2026.

Over the past year, we have collected ideas for events and offered sparring on form, content, financing, descriptions, etc. The inquiries have been overwhelming in both quantity and quality. The umbrella will thus include everything from festival programs with spots on the 100th anniversary, lectures, historical tribute concerts, newly composed works, orchestral restorations and much more.
