Danish Music Awards Jazz 2025 presents this year’s program and opens ticket sales
Look forward to an evening of awards and unique performances when Jazz Danmark opens the doors of the iconic Store VEGA to DMA Jazz 2025.
On December 2, Jazz Danmark invites you to a special edition of Danish Music Awards Jazz at Store VEGA—an evening where both tradition and innovation take center stage.
This year’s host is Alice Carreri, who will guide us with elegance and presence through a grand celebration of jazz. DMA Jazz 2025 features exclusive live performances from Tabloid, Lotte Anker, Sophisticated Ladies & Kaare Munkholm, and Casper Hejlesen.
For the first time, the stage will also be given to three keynote tributes to jazz. Celebrating 100 years of jazz in Denmark—and setting the tone for the next century—Marilyn Mazur, Kasper Tranberg, and Thorbjørn Øllgaard will share their voices. After the show, Kresten Osgood takes over in Ideal Bar with a wild afterparty full of music and good vibes.

Young supergroup reignites fusion jazz
Prepare to be drawn into a colorful, creative, and technically masterful universe when Tabloid takes the stage. Tabloid is a young jazz supergroup made up of some of the strongest names from today’s jazz and pop scene. Their captivating music draws on classic and funky fusion while incorporating fresh, unexpected influences, including J-Pop.
Sophisticated Ladies breathe new life into a 1920s evergreen
The internationally acclaimed trio Sophisticated Ladies have been performing both classic and modern jazz with infectious energy and charm for nearly 40 years. For this special evening, they join forces with the virtuosic vibraphonist Kaare Munkholm in a unique mini-set of new original compositions, 1960s jazz, and a Danish evergreen from the 1920s.
Lotte Anker premieres new work at DMA Jazz 2025
With her boundary-pushing saxophone playing, Lotte Anker is one of the most distinctive voices on the European avant-garde scene. The audience can look forward to an uncompromising and unfiltered jazz experience composed especially for this evening. Since the 1980s, Lotte Anker has been one of Denmark’s foremost exponents of the experimental current running at the heart of jazz’s DNA.
When youth challenges tradition
The voice of youth and the future is strongly represented at this year’s show through Casper Hejlesen. An experimental guitarist with a deep ear for tradition, he breaks away from the classical to point us toward new horizons. With his intimate and unpredictable playing, Hejlesen manages both to challenge and embrace the listener.

Alice Carreri guides the audience through DMA Jazz 2025
This year’s host, vocalist Alice Carreri, is deeply rooted in the Danish jazz scene and knows better than most how to captivate an audience. Carreri carries jazz with authority and infectious charm. She is a regular part of Tivoli’s many orchestras this season and has for more than 10 years been the resident vocalist at the legendary jazz club La Fontaine.
Voices that set direction
This year we also celebrate 100 years since jazz first entered Denmark in the 1920s. Jazz Danmark launches the umbrella event Dansk Jazz 100 År, and in that connection, we have invited three leading jazz figures to share their perspectives on the significance of jazz in Denmark through three keynote addresses.
If anyone can represent Danish jazz’s past, present, and future, Marilyn Mazur is an obvious choice. She has been Miles Davis’ percussionist, led countless bands and projects of her own, and established herself as a major inspiration helping guide new generations of jazz musicians.
Thorbjørn Øllgaard has made his mark as a bass and baritone saxophonist in the rising technojazz trio Smag På Dig Selv. Known for their wild and provocative live shows, the band promises a rebellious take on jazz’s importance.
Trumpeter and composer Kasper Tranberg has played with everyone from John Tchicai to Iceage and belongs to the European elite of trumpeters. As a cornerstone of the Danish scene for three decades, Tranberg will articulate the essence of jazz.
Afterparty with Kresten Osgood
When the lights go out in Store VEGA, the celebration has only just begun and continues in Ideal Bar, where everyone is invited. Composer, multi-instrumentalist, and former DMA Jazz host Kresten Osgood is ready with an afterparty beyond the ordinary. Osgood promises a program that will turn your expectations upside down, with live music and DJ sessions from Jazz Danmark’s record collection.
