Jazzkonkurrencen 2023: see the line up

The program for the 2023 edition of Jazzkonkurrencen 2.0 is now finalized. This year’s performers will be Kosmos Trio, KÖZ, and Aske Stubkjær.

The program for the 2023 edition of Jazzkonkurrencen 2.0 is set, with the concert series kicking off on February 10 at Huset i Hasserisgade, Aalborg. This year, an increased focus on artistic development and networking means that the three selected acts will perform at all four planned concerts. However, Jazzkonkurrencen 2.0 will still conclude with one winner, who will be awarded DKK 10,000 to support a future project.

The audience can expect an eclectic mix of genres, from intimate Nordic trio jazz and minimalist piano with electric elements and found sounds, to an audaciously maximalist, genre-fusing eight-person band. Jazzkonkurrencen 2.0 promises to push boundaries in every sense.

About the Participants

Kosmos Trio
Kosmos Trio performs modern jazz in a minimalist, Nordic-inspired soundscape. They communicate through a simple and accessible musical language, enriched by complex compositional ideas. This dynamic balance makes them an engaging and wide-reaching group that delivers intimate yet powerful concert experiences.

In October, Kosmos Trio released their debut album, “Brev Til En Ven”, through April Records, earning critical acclaim both nationally and internationally. Jazz Journal UK praised the album as “a release of original, leanly rendered yet highly atmospheric compositions, with pensive melancholy and vibrant affirmation held in stimulating balance throughout.”
