Join Jazznetværket at the summer jazz festivals in Svendborg and Aarhus
Expand your network and gain tools to develop your audience and programming at two events in June and July.
This summer, Jazznetværket invites Danish concert promoters to two networking meetings during Svendborg Jazzfestival and Aarhus Jazz Festival. We’ll come together around current challenges and opportunities through presentations, dialogue, and the chance to experience the festivals from the inside.
13 June – Svendborg Jazzfestival: How do we reach new audiences?
How do we grow audiences for jazz – and how can we work strategically with programming and communication when artists are not necessarily widely known?
We’ll explore this together with Dansk Live representative Katrine Haugaard, who works with audience segmentation and data-driven programme development. She will share concrete experiences and tools from, among others, MOORJAZZ Festival, which you can apply directly in your work as a concert promoter.
The day also includes insights from the hosts Svendborg Jazzfestival and Spillestedet Harders. As a participant, you’ll get access to Saturday’s concerts, where you can, among others, experience the legendary Danish latin-funk ensemble Buki Yamaz and the German star pianist Pablo Held’s trio.

4 July – Aarhus Jazz Festival: Artist-in-Residence and international networks
How can an artist-in-residence create new collaborations between venues, promoters, and music communities?
Aarhus Jazz Festival shares experiences from their work with artist-in-residence – most recently with Astrid Engberg (2026), and previously Paal Nilssen-Love and Gustav Ljunggreen & Emil de Waal.
We’ll meet the festival directors Marie Norman Nyeng and Gorm Askjær and gain insight into how the format can be used strategically in programming and network building.
We will also hear from our hosts at Institut for X, one of the many concert organisers in Aarhus Jazz Festival, and conclude with a networking activity featuring international guests from Jazzbüro Hamburg and Musikcentrum Syd (Malmö).
This offers excellent opportunities for you as a concert promoter to build connections with new music communities in Denmark and abroad—and perhaps find inspiration to work with the artist-in-residence format in your own programming.
