Kresten Osgood hosts DMA Jazz in VEGA 9th December
Danish Music Awards Jazz 2024 will take place on Monday, December 9th. For the second year in a row, the iconic concert hall VEGA will host the event. The host is new, but likely familiar to many in the jazz community. It will be Kresten Osgood, the multi-instrumentalist and walking jazz encyclopedia, who will guide the audience through performances, awards, and much more as the past year in Danish jazz is celebrated on the country’s largest dedicated stage for rhythmic music.

In celebration of the continued collaboration, JazzDanmark and VEGA are also presenting a concert series with 3 jazz bands in the second half of 2024 at Ideal Bar, featuring the venue’s state-of-the-art immersive sound system.

Nominations for DMA Jazz 2024 are already underway. Remember to submit your release and feel free to nudge a colleague or two to ensure that all jazz releases from July 1st, 2023 to June 30th, 2024 are considered.

I’m incredibly excited to host DMA Jazz. It’s no secret that I love jazz with all my heart. To have a microphone in my hand in a packed room, with the opportunity to celebrate all the beautiful and diverse artists in our community, is a dream scenario for me. It’s going to be a blast! I’ll do everything I can to make it an unforgettable party, where we celebrate this truly unique art form, which has such immense potential and is endlessly enriching to work with.
