Networking at the stand, musician relay, panels, and plenty of music

The Danish stand is described by many participants as a safe haven amid the vast sea of booths, industry professionals, and musicians in the exhibition halls. Once again, the stand’s program offers a wide range of networking opportunities. In addition, Jazz Danmark is taking part in panel discussions and organizing an international musician relay.

Friday will be the busiest day both at the stand and on the fair’s stages. The evening begins with Nana Rashid performing on the main official showcase stage. This is followed by performances from Sinne Eeg & Jakob Christoffersen, Kathrine Windfeld, and Nausia at the traditional Danish Clubnight.

That same evening, Aalborg-based bassist Kenneth Dahl Knudsen will perform his HEXORA project at Berthold Records’ clubnight.

During the day, Jazz Danmark will host several networking receptions, and the organization’s director Eva Frost will take part in a panel discussion and present the Danish report Inspirational Guide Towards Gender Equality in Music.

Danish Artists at Grand Opening, German Jazz Expo, and Deutscher Jazzpreis

In addition to the many fair activities, Denmark will also be represented at the German Jazz Expo, where drummer Michala Østergaard Nielsen performs as part of Sara Decker – Expand. At the Grand Opening event on Wednesday evening, singer Josefine Cronholm will appear as guest soloist with the big band The Bigger the Knower. At Saturday’s major award ceremony, Deutscher Jazzpreis, two Danish releases have been nominated: Omrum – Bringer of Light and Maria Faust – Sacrum Facere.

In other words, the more than 3,000 international attendees at the fair will be treated to an exceptional amount of Danish jazz this year.
