Under the heading Nordic Music and Community, JazzDanmark and Jazz9tus are hosts for a strong jazz program in the iconic yellow Monas Hus on Kulturvejen in Nykøbing Mors. This is the second time we are transforming the villa into Monas Jazzhus, this year with a tailor-made concert featuring newly composed works and a debate on Nordic collaboration. The evening is created in close cooperation with the Northern Jutland jazz association, Jazz9tus.

Nordic Jazz Stars on Friday Night
Experience tomorrow’s Nordic jazz stars perform entirely new works created at Jazz9tus’ Nordic composer camp, which takes place just before Kulturmødet. We will fill the iconic yellow villa with live Nordic jazz of the highest quality, open the bar, and invite you to an evening full of musical community and improvisational celebration. The perfect ending to a day of presentations and debate.
Do the Nordic Music Scenes Have Enough on Their Own?
Earlier in the day, a debate titled “Do the Nordic music scenes have enough on their own?” will spark a conversation about how music can act as a catalyst for cross-Nordic community. The debate will focus on what barriers exist to forming strong ties and what the future holds. This will take place at 17:30 in Monas Jazzhus.

Gloomers Deliver Jazz at Klostergaarden on Saturday
On Saturday at 12:00, you can experience new Danish jazz when Kenneth Dahl Knudsen’s Gloomers takes the stage at Klostergaarden. The debut release has just received 5 stars from Fredrik Lundin in Nordjyske and features musicians from Aalborg and Northern Jutland – including Danish-German singer Emilie Fleig and Swedish-Danish trumpeter Jimmy Nyborg.
The event is supported by the A.P. Møller Foundation and is part of Kulturmødet’s Nordic program.
Jazz is a popular genre at Kulturmødet on Mors, which created a queue at Monas Jazzhus in 2023. As a result, parts of the audience had to experience the concerts from the street. Fortunately, the weather was on our side. Photo: JazzDanmark
