JazzDanmark’s board is seeking a new member who will help realize our vision of promoting jazz in Denmark and abroad
Jazz Danmark’s Board Seeks a New Member. Are you passionate about jazz and ready to help realize our vision of spreading jazz across Denmark and internationally?
There is one open seat on the Jazz Danmark Board starting January 1, 2025, to be filled based on applications. The current board will select the new member. The application deadline is December 4, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
Who Are You?
- You are an active part of the vibrant and performing jazz scene.
- You have visions for Danish jazz and are ready to contribute to how you and JazzDanmark can make a difference for jazz.
- You have the time and energy to actively participate in four annual board meetings, primarily held in Copenhagen (travel expenses covered).
Jazz Danmark values a competent and diverse board composition, considering gender, geographical location, ethnicity, education, age, and more. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
The application period is open now until December 4, 2024, at 12:00 PM. After the deadline, the board will review applications and select the candidate. Initial interviews may be arranged if needed. The final candidate will be contacted directly, with results expected in Week 51.

About sitting on the Jazz Danmark Board
As a member of the Jazz Danmark Board, you will be involved in developing the strategy for the genre organization and ensuring the proper organization of Jazz Danmark’s affairs. You will contribute to putting Danish jazz on the world map, working for a sustainable and inclusive jazz environment – and much more.
Board members must be able to attend four annual board meetings, primarily held in Copenhagen. In addition to the board, JazzDanmark’s CEO and deputy director also attend the meetings. As a board member, you are also invited to the organization’s ongoing events. You will receive a symbolic honorarium for your work on the board, and your transportation to the meetings will be covered.
The board consists of a total of seven members. Each appointment period lasts four years and can be extended by another four years, with a maximum of eight years in total. Jazz Danmark emphasizes a competent and diverse board composition, including gender, geographic location, ethnicity, education, age, and more. The appointment of board members follows the “Recommendations for Good Governance of Independent Cultural Institutions.”

Jazz Danmark is one of the four genre organizations that receives operational funding from the Danish Arts Foundation’s Music Project Support Committee and contributes to promoting the music life in Denmark and spreading Danish music abroad.
