On 7 December 2026, Danish Music Awards Jazz will fill Bremen Teater with an unforgettable show packed with award presentations and special musical performances — all led by the experienced host Rasmus Bjerg.

The year’s major achievements in the world of jazz will be celebrated with eight DMA statuettes and a special award, while the stage will feature plenty of live music and guests from the Danish jazz scene. It will be an evening full of music and celebration and, as always, a vibrant meeting place for both the jazz community and jazz lovers alike.

An experienced and musical host

For two decades, Rasmus Bjerg has been known across Denmark as an actor, singer, and entertainer on stage and television. His portrayal of John Mogensen in particular brought him further into the world of music, but he has also toured with his own Christmas show and hosted everything from Dansk Melodi Grand Prix to Zulu Comedy Galla. In other words, this year’s DMA Jazz will be led by a highly experienced and deeply musical host.

DMA Jazz returns to Bremen Teater

For many years, Danish Music Awards Jazz had Bremen Teater as its permanent home up to and including 2021 — and this year we are returning once again. Jazz Danmark’s director, Eva Frost, is delighted that the show is once again taking place here:

“DMA Jazz is a show that should evolve from year to year — both within the jazz landscape and in the approach to shaping the show itself. We’ve had three great years at Store VEGA and one truly wonderful show at Musikhuset Aarhus, but now we feel it’s time to return to Bremen Teater. We’re looking forward to experiencing the intimate atmosphere of the beautiful theatre hall again, which in our opinion suits both an award show and jazz exceptionally well.”

In the hours leading up to the show, we are once again inviting guests to the country’s largest industry event for the jazz scene, jazz+, which this year will take place at the café Kolme right next to Bremen Teater. More information about the industry event will follow soon. Once the final award has been presented, we will, as always, invite everyone to dance, mingle, and raise a glass at the afterparty in Bremen’s foyer.
