Join the National Jazz Network in Aalborg
Jazz Danmark’s network for concert organizers and jazz clubs, the National Jazz Network, invites you to an inspiration trip to North Jutland.
Join us in Aalborg on January 14, 2026, and meet the association JAZZ9TUS, one of the city’s most ambitious jazz initiatives, which in just a few years has established itself as an important visionary jazz initiative, featuring a strong international guest program and a focus on collaboration and youth culture. Among other things, it is home to the Aalborg Youth Jazz Orchestra (AYJO), an entirely youth-run big band.
The trip offers an inspiring afternoon and evening in the company of the people shaping Aalborg’s jazz scene. We’ll gain insight into JAZZ9TUS’s work toward its vision of creating a European jazz city, as well as AYJO’s experiences in building a youth-led musical community.
The day concludes with a concert and jam session at El Mundo, featuring the Aalborg Youth Jazz Orchestra and saxophonist Mona Krogstad.
