Jazzstævnerne.dk collects stories, photos, and audio recordings from Danish jazz gatherings – from the 1960s to the present day. As part of the project Danish Jazz 100 Years and the current summer gathering Summer Session, Jazz Danmark is taking over the operation of the site and is now looking for new contributors.

Since the 1960s, the jazz gatherings have been important meeting points on the Danish jazz scene – places where musicians from Denmark and abroad have met, created music together, and exchanged ideas in informal yet ambitious settings.

The website has existed since 2022 and currently features contributions primarily from Jens Jørn Gjedsted, Ole Matthiessen, and Aage Hagen. It mainly covers the period from 1966 to 1980 and the gatherings at Magleås, Vallekilde, and Brandbjerg. The original editorial team now wishes to broaden the perspective – and invite more volunteers to join the effort.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to contribute in one or more of the following ways:

• Articles: Research and writing of new stories about the gatherings.

• Editorial work: Help organize and develop content on the website.

• Materials: Can be sent directly to jazzstaevnerne@gmail.com. Photos, audio recordings, videos, or written accounts from the gatherings:

  • Brandbjerg (1981–1991)

  • Vallekilde (1981–1987)

  • Summer Session (1989–present)
